Our take: Bizee is the cheapest way to have a company file your LLC: $0 plus the state fee, usually approved fast. It's a good pick if you'll decline the extras, get your EIN free from the IRS, and decide before month 12 whether to keep its $149 a year agent. If you want a free business address, steady support or the lowest long-run bill, look at Northwest first.
Key takeaways
- Price: Basic $0, Standard $199, Premium $299, each plus the state fee, paid once. Standard is pre-selected at checkout.
- The recurring part: registered agent free for year one, then $149 a year. Virtual address free for one month, then $29 a month.
- Basic leaves out the EIN, operating agreement, compliance alerts and unlimited support, per Bizee's own checkout table.
- Refunds: only until Bizee pays the state, which it says is usually within 24 hours.
- Reputation: 4.8 on Trustpilot (26,372 reviews), but a C at the BBB with 78 complaints in three years and an active alert about billing.
- Who it suits: US-based owners forming a simple LLC who read every checkout screen.

Bizee's packages and what each one includes
Bizee sells three one-time packages for LLCs (the same prices apply to corporations and nonprofits). There's no yearly subscription for the package itself; the recurring costs come from the registered agent and any add-ons you keep. The table below is Bizee's own comparison table from its order form, with Texas selected.
| Feature | Basic $0 | Standard $199 | Premium $299 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Articles of Organization filed with the state | Included | Included | Included |
| Registered agent, first year (then $149/yr) | Included | Included | Included |
| Virtual business address, first month (then $29/mo) | Included | Included | Included |
| Online dashboard, bank account offer, tax consultation | Included | Included | Included |
| EIN (federal tax ID) | No | Included | Included |
| Operating agreement | No | Included | Included |

| Domain name and business email | No | No | Included |
| Business phone line, first year (US only) | No | No | Included |
| Processing time shown for Texas | 4 weeks | 4 weeks | 4 days |
"+$50" means you can add it to that package for an extra fee. Bizee's filing row also lists a statement of organizer, banking resolutions and unlimited name searches in every package.
What the $0 Basic plan really gets you
Basic gets your Articles of Organization filed, a year of registered agent service, a month of virtual address and access to the dashboard. That's enough to legally form an LLC. It's not enough to open a bank account (you'll need an EIN) or to document how the LLC is run (an operating agreement).
Both gaps are easy to close for free. The IRS issues EINs online at no cost, usually in one sitting. Operating agreement templates are widely available, and some states don't require one at all; each of our state guides says whether yours does.
Bizee's pages disagree on Basic. Its homepage says "every package includes lifetime compliance alerts." Its order form table shows no compliance alerts and no unlimited phone and email support on Basic. The order form FAQ also says Standard "includes expedited filing," while the table on the same page lists expediting as a $50 add-on to Standard. Ask before you buy if either matters to you.
Registered agent service and what you'll pay from year two
Every LLC needs a registered agent: a person or company with a street address in the state that accepts legal papers and state mail. Bizee includes this free for the first year with any package. After that, it renews at $149 a year. Accountants and law firms on Bizee's partner program pay $119.
- What's included: text and email alerts when papers arrive, scans uploaded to your dashboard, and service of process sent by tracked FedEx. Bizee says it runs its own offices in all 50 states and doesn't outsource the service.
- Auto-renewal: Bizee's terms say the card on file "will be charged by Bizee's registered agent partner (e.g., LegalInc)" for the renewal. That wording sits a little oddly next to the "we do not outsource" line on its agent page. Bizee's president, named in August 2026, founded Legalinc.
- To stop it: appoint a new agent with your state and notify Bizee before the expiration date. Renewal charges "cannot be reversed" once applied, per the terms.
The virtual business address works the same way: free for the first month after formation, then $29 a month until you cancel. That's $348 a year if you forget about it, and it's one of the most common surprise charges in customer complaints.
Every Bizee add-on price
Here's everything Bizee sells beyond the packages, with the price shown on its own order pages. Where Bizee showed two different prices for the same thing, we list both.
| Service | Bizee price | State fee extra? | Note |
|---|---|---|---|
| EIN (federal tax ID) | $70 | No | Included in Standard and Premium. Free from the IRS if you apply yourself. |
| Expedited filing | $50 ($100 in Delaware) | No | Add-on to Standard, included in Premium |
| S corp election (Form 2553) | $50 | No | Add-on to Basic, included in Standard and Premium |
| Business contract templates | $150 | No | Add-on to Standard, included in Premium |
| Virtual business address | $29/month | No | First month free with formation |
| Annual report filing | $129 | Yes | Shown as Bizee's filing fee next to the state fee |
| DBA (assumed name) | $99 | Yes | |
| Amendment or name change | $99 | Yes | |
| Certificate of good standing | $99 to $119 | Yes | The order page shows both prices |
| Foreign qualification | $199 | Yes | |
| Dissolution | $199 | Yes | |
| Reinstatement | $199 | Yes | If not more than one year behind |
| Business license research | $99 | No | Delivered by email 3 to 4 weeks after filing |
| LLC kit (binder, seal) | $99 | No | |
| Trademark registration | $399 | Yes | Order form total; the marketing page says $299 |
| Bizee Tax bookkeeping | $125/month | No | Single-member LLCs and sole props; auto-starts after a 31-day trial |
The one to watch is the $70 EIN. The IRS doesn't charge for an EIN, and US owners with a Social Security number can usually get one online in about 15 minutes. Non-US owners have a harder time either way, which is why EIN delays are a big share of Bizee's complaints.
How fast Bizee files
Bizee says it prepares and sends most orders to the state within one business day. After that, speed depends on your state and your package. Bizee's order form showed these processing labels when we checked:
| State | Basic | Standard | Premium |
|---|---|---|---|
| Texas | 4 weeks | 4 weeks | 4 days |
| California | 4 weeks | 4 weeks | 3 days |
| Florida | 3 weeks | 3 weeks | 6 days |
| Wyoming | 3 weeks | 3 weeks | 1 day |
| Delaware | 6 weeks | 6 weeks | 3 days |
| New York | 3 weeks | 3 weeks | 1 day |
Real-world reports are often faster than these labels. Several Reddit users say their basic LLC was approved within 24 hours. Others, and about 17 of the 140 negative Trustpilot reviews we read, describe paid expedited orders that still took one to three weeks. MarketWatch says Bizee can take "up to 12 weeks."
What Bizee's checkout looks like
We loaded Bizee's order form for six states without entering personal details or paying. Three things stood out:
- Standard ($199) is selected by default. If you want the $0 plan, you have to click Basic.
- Add-ons sit inside the package table: expediting (+$50), contract templates (+$150) and the S corp election (+$50). They weren't pre-ticked on the first screen. We stopped at the company name step, so we can't say what later screens offer.
- The "state fee" at checkout was a few dollars higher than the fee on Bizee's own state guides in five of six states. Bizee doesn't explain the gap; card processing surcharges are a likely reason, but we couldn't confirm it.
| State | Official state fee | Bizee "state fee" | Basic total | Standard total |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Texas | $300 | $309 | $309 | $508 |
| California | $70 | $75 | $75 | $274 |
| Florida | $125 | $125 | $125 | $324 |
| Wyoming | $104 | $103 | $103 | $302 |
| Delaware | $110 | $143 | $143 | $342 |
| New York | $200 | $205 | $205 | $404 |
Delaware's official LLC filing fee is $110; Bizee's checkout showed $143 and its Delaware guide says $140. Wyoming's official fee includes a card fee on our page.
Refunds, cancellation and the terms you agree to
Bizee doesn't offer a money-back guarantee. Here's what its Terms of Service say, quoted directly:
"An order is generally refundable until payment is forwarded to any government entity... (typically within twenty-four hours after an order is placed)."
"Instructions to cancel an order or any other changes to an order cannot be accepted by telephone or email."
To cancel, the order must still be in review and you have to put it on hold with the "make changes" button in your confirmation email. A few other terms are worth knowing before you pay:
- Arbitration: disputes go to individual arbitration under Texas law, not court or class actions (small claims is allowed).
- Liability cap: the lower of what you paid Bizee that year or $100.
- Chargebacks: for a chargeback Bizee considers improper, it reserves the right to cancel services, dissolve the entity and claim $500 in damages.
- Marketing consent: you agree Bizee can contact you with advertising by autodialed calls and texts, though the terms say this consent isn't required to buy.
- Compliance is on you: reminders are "solely as a courtesy." Missing a deadline is your responsibility.
Some reviewers, including U.S. News, mention a $30 cancellation fee. We didn't find that fee on bizee.com; the terms instead say refunds are "less any other expenses" already paid.
Privacy and your data
Using Bizee as your registered agent keeps your home address out of the agent field on state filings. Bizee's privacy policy also says it may share personal information with "Lenders and/or brokers within our network" and "Affiliates and partners for marketing." It lists a right to opt out of the sale of your data but doesn't say whether it sells data. It does say it won't share your mobile number with third parties for marketing. That free plan has to be paid for somewhere, and partner offers (banking through Relay, tax consultations, bookkeeping) are part of how.
What Bizee doesn't do
- Give legal, tax or accounting advice. It's not a law firm, and what you tell it isn't covered by attorney-client privilege. Trademark filings are the exception, handled with partner attorneys.
- File your annual report automatically. That's a separate paid service, and Bizee doesn't file California's Franchise Tax Board report.
- Accept packages or forward ordinary mail at the virtual address. It forwards only checks and cards, holds other physical mail one to two weeks, then shreds it.
- Offer weekend support or live chat on every plan.
- Offer a mobile app.
What customers say about Bizee
We checked every review platform we could reach on November 1, 2026. The scores tell two different stories depending on who's asking.
| Platform | Score | Volume |
|---|---|---|
| Trustpilot | 4.8 / 5 | 26,372 reviews |
| BBB customer reviews | 3.85 / 5 | 47 reviews |
| BBB rating | C, not accredited | 78 complaints in 3 years |
| PissedConsumer (Incfile) | 3.4 / 5 | 9 reviews |
| G2 | 2.5 / 5 | 2 reviews |
Why the Trustpilot score is so high
Of Bizee's 26,372 Trustpilot reviews, 87% are five stars and 4.3% are one star. Most recent five-star reviews praise a named support rep right after a call or ticket, which points to review invitations after support. That's allowed, and the praise is real, but it captures the happiest moment of the customer's experience. LLC University noted the profile went from 136 reviews at 2.3 stars in 2022 to about 13,400 at 4.7 stars by July 2023.
The BBB picture
The Better Business Bureau rates Bizee C and it isn't accredited. It lists 78 complaints in three years (21 in the last 12 months) and an active alert. In BBB's words, consumers allege "unauthorized or unexpected charges, difficulties canceling recurring services, delays in completing purchased business filing services, misleading advertising regarding expedited processing, and repeated failures to obtain assistance after issues were escalated."
Bizee's public response says its rating improved from F to C. It also lists fixes: advance notice before agent renewals, refunds of the expedite fee when a state causes the delay, and a refund of the EIN fee if no EIN arrives within six months. We couldn't verify those claims independently.
What people praise
- Patient, helpful reps. 18 of the 20 newest five-star Trustpilot reviews are about a support conversation, and most name the person.
- Fast basic filing. Many reports of approval within a day or two.
- One-time package pricing and the free first year of agent service.
What people complain about
We read and sorted the 140 newest one- and two-star English reviews on Trustpilot (October 2025 to October 2026). One review can raise several issues, so these are rough shares of that sample, not of all customers.
| Theme | Reviews | Typical story |
|---|---|---|
| Poor or slow customer service | ~31 | Emails unanswered for days, callbacks that never come, no live chat in the account. |
| Upsells and fees beyond the $0 headline | ~20 | Paid add-ons, the $29/mo address, and packages that felt worth less than advertised. |
| EIN problems | ~18 | Slow or missing EINs, mostly for non-US owners, and paying $70 for something the IRS does for free. |
| Delays, or expediting that didn't arrive | ~17 | Rush or "1 day" orders that took one to three weeks, and refused refunds of the $50 expedite fee. |
| Filing errors | ~14 | Wrong member, manager or officer details, then a paid amendment to fix it. |
| Recurring charges and hard cancellation | ~10 | Agent renewals, the monthly address, or charges after a customer thought they had cancelled. |
Bizee replied to all 140 of those reviews, usually within a day. The replies are often firm. To one reviewer who called it a scam, Bizee wrote: "We reject the characterization of our service as a scam."
"I could have obtained my EIN for free, instantly from the irs directly but paid 70$ to wait forever"
Trustpilot one-star review, February 2026
"Dora was methodical and thoughtful in her assistance to me over the phone."
Trustpilot five-star review, October 31, 2026
What Reddit says about Bizee
We read 23 Reddit threads about Bizee or Incfile from 2023 to 2026 in r/llc, r/smallbusiness and r/llc_life. Roughly 14 were negative, 7 mixed or neutral, and none were clearly positive original posts; good experiences show up mostly as replies. Reddit skews negative because people post when something goes wrong, and some Northwest fans in those threads post affiliate links, so read it as a list of risks rather than a verdict.
"I used Bizee, it was fine, and quick but they are going to try and upsell you on tons of stuff."
r/llc, December 2024
"I didnt use express, yet my LLC was approved in about 18 hours."
r/llc, September 2024
"Most things can be done without paying a cent to Bizee."
r/smallbusiness, August 2024
"Easy to register but hard to get out."
r/llc, 2026, in a thread about an unexpected $29 monthly charge
"every single response is the same: 'You need to wait up to 3 months.'"
r/llc, December 2025, a non-US owner waiting on an EIN
The recurring Reddit themes match Trustpilot's: the basic filing works and is quick; the friction is in upsells, the $29 address, the agent renewal, slow EINs for non-US owners and getting out of recurring services. The most common advice in those threads is to decline everything optional, or to file with the state yourself.
What other review sites say
Editorial reviewers rate Bizee highly, mostly on price and features. Nearly all of them earn affiliate commissions, as we do, and none of the ones below mention the BBB grade or alert.

News and legal record
We found no FTC or state attorney general action against Bizee or Incfile, and no reported data breach. The one federal case we found, Kamanda v. Incfile (N.D. Indiana), was a self-filed civil rights suit dismissed as abandoned in September 2025. Former employees posted on LinkedIn in October 2026 about layoffs in a "company-wide restructuring"; Bizee hasn't announced anything publicly.

Questions people ask
Is Bizee legit?
Yes. Bizee is the company that was called Incfile until December 2023. It has been filing business paperwork from Houston, Texas since 2004 and says it has formed more than a million companies. It holds a 4.8 Trustpilot score from 26,372 reviews, but the BBB rates it C and has an open alert about billing and cancellation complaints, so read the fine print before you buy.
Is Bizee really free?
The Basic package is $0 plus your state fee, and it includes a free first year of registered agent service. You'll still pay the state, and Bizee's checkout showed a state fee a few dollars above the official fee in five of the six states we checked. From year two the agent costs $149 a year unless you appoint someone else.
What does Bizee charge after the first year?
The registered agent renews at $149 a year (Bizee's partner accounts pay $119). If you kept the virtual address past the free first month, that's $29 a month. Filing your annual report through Bizee is a separate $129 plus the state fee.
What doesn't the Bizee Basic plan include?
According to Bizee's own checkout table, Basic leaves out the EIN, the operating agreement, lifetime compliance alerts, unlimited phone and email support, and expedited filing. Its homepage says every package gets compliance alerts, so the two pages disagree.
Can I get a refund from Bizee?
Only before Bizee sends your payment to the state, which its terms say usually happens within 24 hours. You have to put the order on hold with the "make changes" button in your confirmation email. Bizee says it won't accept cancellations by phone or email, and renewal charges can't be reversed once applied.
How do I cancel Bizee's registered agent service?
Appoint a new registered agent with your state (or name yourself if you have a street address there), then tell Bizee. Bizee's terms say it may auto-renew the $149 service if it hasn't been told by the expiration date. Each of our state registered agent guides lists the state's change fee.
Is Incfile the same as Bizee?
Yes. Incfile rebranded as Bizee in December 2023. Same company, same Houston headquarters and the same founders. Incfile.com now redirects to bizee.com and its Trustpilot reviews were merged.
Why is Bizee 4.8 on Trustpilot but C at the BBB?
They measure different things. Trustpilot is mostly reviews Bizee invites after support calls, and 87% are five stars. The BBB letter grade weighs complaints and how they're handled; it lists 78 complaints in three years and a pattern alert about unexpected charges and slow fixes. Both are real signals.
Is Bizee or Northwest better?
Bizee is cheaper in year one ($0 against Northwest's $39). Northwest's agent renews for less ($125 against $149) and its business address is free. Over three years of agent service the totals are $298 and $289. See the full comparison.
